Kanye West's Sunday Service Collective, once a major project for the rapper, has reportedly lost its charity status.
According to the IRS, the organization's revocation date is listed as May 15, 2024.
This development marks a significant shift in the operation of the choir, which Kanye famously claimed to have invested $75 million in during its first year.
The Sunday Service was initially a high-profile venture, with West pouring resources into its performances and appearances, including flying 120 people to Jamaica for one of the services.
However, it seems West's involvement has waned.
The official Instagram for the Sunday Service Collective hasn't featured Kanye since November 2022, around the time he faced backlash over antisemitic remarks.
Meanwhile, the choir, led by Jason White, has continued to perform independently, including a recent collaboration with actor Will Smith.
Fans have noticed West's absence from recent events, including the group's performances and releases.
As the choir moves forward under White's direction, it appears to be distancing itself from West, now operating as a separate entity from the grand vision that Kanye once spearheaded.
The future of Sunday Service without Kanye's leadership remains uncertain.
