Raygun breaks silence on Olympic controversy

Rachael "Raygun" Gunn responds on Instagram to the backlash and conspiracy theories about her controversial Olympic performance and selection for the Games.
In her video, Raygun expressed gratitude to her supporters but also shared how the negativity has been devastating.
''I didn't realize that would also open the door to so much hate which has frankly been pretty devastating.''
She emphasized that she worked hard and took the Olympics seriously, despite the lighthearted nature of her routine, which included moves like mimicking a snake and a kangaroo.
The Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) has also come to her defense, confirming that her selection was conducted fairly under the World DanceSport Federation's Olympic qualification system.
The AOC clarified that the judging panel was composed of independent international judges and that Raygun had no influence over the selection process.
The AOC also addressed funding concerns, stating that the Australian Olympic Team's campaign was fully funded by the AOC, with no federal government involvement.
Raygun asked the press to respect her privacy and that of her family and community, as she plans to take some time off in Europe before returning to Australia. She promised to answer more questions upon her return.
