Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign's collaborative albums, Vultures 1 and Vultures 2, are reportedly in danger of being removed from streaming platforms.
According to Kanye, Atlantic Records is demanding a significant portion of the revenue generated by the albums, despite their independent release under Kanye's YZY imprint.
In a series of Instagram Stories, Kanye shared a text message from his manager, John Monopoly, who revealed that Atlantic is seeking 40% of all revenue from the projects.
The label, which holds Ty Dolla $ign under contract as a solo artist, is reportedly pushing for immediate payment, threatening to pull the albums if their demands are not met.
Kanye expressed frustration over the situation, claiming that this is how major labels treat independent artists.
He also questioned the new leadership at Atlantic, as Elliot Grainge recently took over as head of the company.
This conflict echoes previous issues faced by artists like Lil Wayne, who encountered similar label disputes that delayed or altered the release of collaborative projects.
The outcome for Vultures 1 and Vultures 2 remains uncertain as the situation unfolds.
