Kanye West's Vultures 2, released on August 3, features sharp disses targeting Adidas, Drake, and Kim Kardashian.
In the album's final track, "MY SOUL," Kanye doesn't mince words, directly addressing Adidas with the lines:
''We mass targeted, mass marketed, mass incarceration/ Mass in police stations, mass incorporated, fuck Adidas.''
This bold statement follows a history of public spats with the sportswear giant, with whom West has had a tumultuous relationship.
The track "530" features another jab, this time aimed at Drake. Kanye raps,
''You a fake bitch, you don't really love Ye bitch, go listen to Drake bitch.''
The line hints at a longstanding tension between the two artists, which has been a recurring theme in West's recent music and public comments.
On the track "HUSBAND," Kanye appears to reference his tumultuous relationship with Kim Kardashian, reflecting on the aftermath of their divorce in 2021. He raps:
''Neighbors know this shit get out of hand, but they smile/ Cause you been so long without a man.'' Later, he adds, ''You know that's where they at, Beverly Hills/ You know that's where they at/ I don't really wanna go back to that/ If I do, I know I'm goin' back to back/ Breakin' backs and bags, imagine that.''
The lyrics suggest a sense of closure and reluctance to revisit past chapters.
This isn't the first time Kanye has taken shots at these targets. In March, following the success of Vultures 1 and its chart-topping single "Carnival," Kanye expressed his frustrations in a since-deleted Instagram post.
"Rich Ty Carti and the supporters that stood by us through everything This number #1 is for you. It's for the people who won't be manipulated by the system." He didn't stop there, continuing with, "And fuck adidas and everybody who works there or with them. Anyone who goes to school with anyone who's parents work at adidas. Just know they tried to destroy me and here we are with the number 1 song in the world."
West also took the opportunity to lash out at other entities, including the Dailey Mail and fashion houses siding with Gabby and Hailey Bieber.
"And Fuck everybody at the fashion houses that sided with Gabby and Hailey Bieber Fuck each and every single one of yall And fuck every so called Christian and so called friend or so called family member that watched me have my kids taken out of my control."
In a final flourish, Kanye turned his attention back to Drake, lamenting,
"That's how I feel And it's fuck Drake for taking Durk right at the beginning of the Vultures role [sic] out I'll come back to yall if I think of more fuck you's."
This line underscores the ongoing rivalry and complex relationship between the two superstars.
Vultures 2 has sparked considerable buzz, with fans and critics alike dissecting the pointed lyrics.
As always, Kanye West's unabashed candor and willingness to air grievances publicly continue to captivate and provoke discussions in the hip hop community.
Whether you agree with his views or not, there's no denying that Kanye remains one of the most compelling figures in the music industry, unafraid to speak his mind and challenge the status quo.
