MrBeast finally speaks out on explosive rumors about longtime collaborator

Ava Kris Tyson, a longtime collaborator of MrBeast, announced her departure this week amid grooming allegations.
Tyson has been a regular feature on the MrBeast channel, which boasts 305 million subscribers and is known for its outrageous challenges, elaborate giveaways, and high-spending comparison videos.
The controversy began when a video in June scrutinizing Tyson's online interactions with a minor, who goes by LavaGS, gained traction on YouTube.
The analysis focused on exchanges between Tyson and LavaGS, beginning when the latter was 13 and Tyson was 20.
Critics highlighted public posts between Tyson and LavaGS on X and Discord, referencing explicit photos and hentai (anime pornography).
Although we couldn't independently verify these posts, they appeared to have been removed by Wednesday afternoon.
Social media users quickly labeled these interactions as evidence of "grooming," a term defined by the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children as building "a relationship, trust and emotional connection with a child or young person so they can manipulate, exploit and abuse them."
The term "groomer" has recently been weaponized against the LGBTQ community by conservative commentators online.
In a post on X, Tyson denied the grooming allegations but apologized to her followers, stating:
''I would like to apologize for any of my past behavior or comments if it hurt or offended anyone. It was not my intent,'' she wrote on Tuesday. ''Seeing recent events, we've mutually decided it's best I permanently step away from all things MrBeast and social media to focus on my family and mental health.''
LavaGS, now 20, also took to X to defend Tyson, refuting the grooming claims:
''These videos are massive lies and twisting the truth,'' he said. ''Ava never did anything wrong and just made a few edgy jokes. I was never exploited or taken advantage of.''
Tyson, a transgender woman, has faced attacks on her identity in the past, with MrBeast often defending her against such harassment.
This latest controversy, however, proved to be a tipping point, prompting her decision to leave the channel and step back from social media.
The situation has sparked significant discussion online, highlighting the complexities of online relationships and the potent impact of social media scrutiny.
This unfolding story underscores the ongoing challenges faced by public figures in the digital age, particularly those within the LGBTQ community, as they navigate both personal and professional landscapes amid intense public scrutiny.
