Big Sean has officially signed with new management under S10 Entertainment, leaving his decade-long partnership with Roc Nation.
The Detroit rapper is gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated album, Better Me Than You.
On July 29, Billboard reported that Big Sean, who had been managed by Roc Nation for the past ten years, has now partnered with S10 Entertainment, a company led by Brandon Silverstein.
In a statement, Sean expressed his enthusiasm for the new collaboration, stating,
''Brandon shares the vision, understands where I'm headed, and I'm incredibly excited to work with him and the S10 team.''
Silverstein also shared his thoughts on the new partnership, praising Sean's talents and career accomplishments.
''Big Sean is an incredible talent who, even after topping charts, breaking records, winning awards and headlining across the world, is just getting started. I can't wait for fans to hear the new music.''
While this move might seem surprising, it's not as drastic as it appears. S10, founded in 2017, is actually a joint venture between Silverstein and Roc Nation, with additional investment from Avex USA.
This transition maintains a connection with Sean's previous management, ensuring continuity as he embarks on this new chapter.
S10's other management clients include Myke Towers and actress, model, and singer Madison Bailey.
The company has been promoting their relationship with Big Sean since the beginning of July, referring to him as "S10's Big Sean" in a post on Instagram dated July 4.
As Big Sean prepares for the August 9 release of Better Me Than You, he shared insights into the creative process behind the album.
In a trailer released on July 18, Sean introduced four pie-shaped graphs, representing the emotional journey he experienced while creating the project.
He explained these visuals in a recent clip, saying,
''When I was making this album, I was going through I felt like the same four emotions, really... I drew this chart one day that just represented how I was feeling... It's four different charts that represent four different feelings, four different moods of the album, four different emotions that I was going through personally.''
Sean further elaborated on the album's themes, highlighting the pressures he faced, which led to moments of clarity and happiness.
''First of all, I was under a lot of pressure. But going through that pressure led to clarity, which led to me being able to focus on happiness and living in that happiness briefly, and then going right back to the pressure," he continued. "But I drew these graphs out and it really just brought the album to life for me.''
As anticipation builds for Better Me Than You, fans eagerly await the next phase in Big Sean's career, bolstered by his new partnership with S10 Entertainment.
