Drake may want to stick to performing at his own shows for a while because even in his hometown, the love isn't always guaranteed.
Limp Bizkit was performing in Toronto on Thursday night, and things took an unexpected turn when Fred Durst mentioned Drake's name.
The audience's reaction was far from welcoming, as they erupted in boos at the mere mention of the hometown superstar.
The video doesn't show Drake appearing on stage, but the crowd's discontent was loud and clear, leaving Fred Durst speechless. He questioned the reaction, saying,
''I thought Drake was your homie? What? No? Drake's my homie.''
This only intensified the booing, with some fans even hurling f-bombs at the mention of Drizzy's name. Unfazed, Fred dedicated their next song, "Take a Look Around," to Champagne Papi as the atmosphere remained tense.
The "Hot Dog" band was in town for the "Loserville" tour, featuring acts like RiFF RAFF, Bones + Eddy Baker, N8NOFACE, and Corey Feldman.
Not exactly a lineup that would typically draw in Drake fans, making the booing even more surprising.
Certainly, getting booed in your own hometown isn't the best feeling. Earlier that day, Drake released a pair of tropical tracks with his longtime collaborator Gordo.
Judging by the crowd's reaction at the Limp Bizkit concert, fans might be sending a message that he should stick to his own music lane.
