Kanye West's album just ranked among the worst covers ever

Kanye West's 2016 album, "The Life of Pablo," has made headlines again, being ranked as the seventh-worst album cover of all time by Rolling Stone in their July 19 article, ''The 50 Worst Album Covers of All Time.''
Rolling Stone questioned whether Kanye genuinely believed the cover was compelling, suggesting he might be pushing an "eyesore aesthetic" or simply too distracted to care.
They concluded that the intention behind the cover doesn't matter, labeling it as visually unappealing and advising readers to move on.
"The Life of Pablo" wasn't the only Hip Hop album to make the list. Cappadonna's 2021 album "Black Tarzann" was also featured, ranked at number 10.
Rolling Stone criticized it as one of the "worst Photoshop atrocities of the 21st century." The top spot went to Limp Bizkit's 2000 release, "Chocolate St★rfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water."
In addition to this dubious honor, Kanye West is facing legal issues. He was recently sued for allegedly using uncleared samples on his 2021 album "Donda."
According to Billboard, a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles federal court on July 17 accuses Kanye of borrowing elements from the song «MSD PT2» for the tracks «Hurricane» and «Moon,» even after being denied permission.
The lawsuit, filed by Artist Revenue Advocates (ARA), claims that Kanye credited the original song's four creators as songwriters despite not having the rights to use their work.
The creators had unsuccessfully attempted to collect their share of proceeds from the songs for nearly three years before turning to ARA.
Rolling Stone didn't hold back in their critique of "The Life of Pablo" cover, writing:
"[D]oes he actually believe that this is a compelling album cover, or is he trying to push an eyesore aesthetic so far that it goes around the bend and becomes art, or is he just too distracted by the squirrels inside his head to care?"
Despite the negative attention for the album cover, Kanye West continues to be a significant and influential figure in the music industry, although not without his controversies.
