Hip-hop fans, brace yourselves! Havoc, one half of the legendary duo Mobb Deep, has revealed that new music from the group is on the horizon.
This exciting news comes with the promise of production by longtime collaborator, The Alchemist.
On July 15, Havoc took to Instagram to share a tantalizing clip from a studio session with The Alchemist.
The video features Havoc and The Alchemist working together, with an instrumental track blaring in the background. Havoc paid tribute to his late partner, Prodigy, saying:
R.I.P Prodigy. You see Al in the background, you already know what it is. Mobb Deep coming soon, baby. Infinite.
The announcement quickly spread across social media, sparking excitement among fans. The prospect of hearing new Mobb Deep music, possibly featuring unreleased verses from Prodigy, has left many eagerly anticipating the upcoming release.
Havoc from Mobb Deep just posted on Insta that he's in the studio with Alchemist working on some new Mobb Deep music. Which means there are still unreleased Prodigy verses.
While the news is thrilling, specific details about the new music remain scarce. It's unclear whether the project will include previously unheard material from Prodigy.
However, this development suggests that a new album could be on the way, a possibility that has been teased since Prodigy's passing in 2017.
Mobb Deep, consisting of Havoc and Prodigy, debuted in 1993 with Juvenile Hell. They went on to release several classic albums, including The Infamous (1995), Hell on Earth (1996), and Murda Muzik (1999).
Their last studio album, The Infamous Mobb Deep, came out in 2014. The duo is celebrated as one of the greatest rap groups in hip-hop history.
