Steve Harvey and contestants were stumped by unexpected Family Feud responses to "Who Is the GOAT Rapper?"
In an episode aired on Tuesday, July 16, Family Feud featured a star-studded lineup including singer Meghan Trainor, her husband, actor Daryl Sabara, and vocalist Tori Kelly.
The prompt "Who Is the GOAT Rapper?" led to surprising and controversial answers that left both Steve Harvey and the contestants baffled.
When Sabara and his competitor Murillo named J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar, respectively, their answers were unexpectedly rejected.
Lil Wayne also surprisingly didn't make the scoreboard, while iconic names like 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G., and JAY-Z did.
Steve Harvey was particularly stunned when JAY-Z was given the eighth spot, exclaiming,
"Ah, y'all trippin'. We in Rhode Island again? Where we at?"
As the game progressed, other legendary rappers such as Nas also missed the mark, prompting Harvey to comment,
"I think you're thinking as a hip-hop head. I don't think that's who answered these questions."
Eminem secured the third place spot, while Snoop Dogg was surprisingly named number one, much to Harvey's disbelief. Other names that were mentioned but didn't make the cut included Big Z (a producer) and Drake.
Towards the conclusion, Harvey apologized to the hip-hop community for the unexpected results, saying,
"Before we flip over these last three, I want to apologize to the entire hip-hop community. 'JAY-Z's last.' What the world?"
The final three names that were missed included 50 Cent, LL Cool J, whom Harvey called a "bad boy," and Dr. Dre.
